Shannon Beitchman:


Shannon brings extensive experience to Operation C.H.E.F., having worked with youth as a teacher, after-school program director, and youth center coordinator. A certified Nutrition Educator, graduate of Georgetown University, and San Rafael native, Shannon is excited to be empowering the youth in her community to make healthful choices. When Shannon is not in the kitchen, she loves swimming, dancing, playing board games and sports, and being silly. She definitely has a competitive streak, so be warned before engaging in any games with her!

David Beitchman:

David incorporated healthy eating practices into his own life after he was diagnosed with diabetes in 2001. He holds a B.A. from Harvard and an M.A. in Education from UCSB, where he first developed an interest in the connection between nutrition and academic performance. David has worked as a middle school Nutrition and P.E. teacher in Mill Valley, and is a certified Nutrition Educator. He loves planning out meals and has a weird obsession with grocery shopping!


Rachelle Boucher:

Executive Chef Rachelle Boucher is the co-founder of Savor the Moment, a culinary education, demonstration, and promotion company. Since 1992, she has been a highly regarded caterer, cooking teacher, spokesperson and private chef, having worked with top businesses and celebrities in the Bay Area and beyond. Chef Rachelle is a secret space and science nerd; she was able to combine her passion for cooking and for sci-fi when she worked as George Lucas' exclusive private chef.


Megan Hanson:

Megan Hanson, professional chef and Certified Nutrition Educator, has worked in the culinary, nutrition and education fields since 1998. She helped develop comprehensive nutrition programs for Nextcourse at San Francisco’s Mission High School and the SF County Jail. She has also piloted programs in South Los Angeles and recently co-founded the new non-profit, Root Down LA.


Cameron Cox:

Cameron has been excited about food and cooking since she was a wee one! After graduating from UC Berkeley, Cameron decided she wanted to learn more about health and nutrition. She earned a degree from Bauman College for Holistic Nutrition in 2007, and is now taking the next step towards pursuing an M.S. in Nutrition. In her spare time, Cameron can be found cooking up communal meals for her hungry housemates and friends, fermenting vegetables in her crock, and eating lots of good food!

 


Larissa Conte:

Larissa has worked with young people and with food for much of her professional career. After earning her B.S. and M.S. from Stanford in 2005, Larissa worked in the classroom for several years before co-founding the Regenerative Youth Project in Bolinas, CA. The Project, designed for youth ages 14 to 21, is an 8-month nature-based leadership program. Larissa has also worked as a chef in Bolinas, where she continues a successful career as a private caterer. In her spare time, Larissa loves to dance and her favorite muppet of all time is Kermit the Frog

Sarah Klein:

Sarah incorporates her artwork with her culinary interests. In a recent project she illustrated the Local Foods Wheel, (www.localfoodswheel.com) a fun and functional tool that helps people in the Bay Area discover what is local and in season at different times of the year. Sarah Klein teaches cooking to people of all ages. She has lead bread making workshops throughout the Bay Area, including the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, the Discovery Museum, and the Crissy Field Center. Sarah’s passion for local foods and sustainable farming has lead her to be a cast member on the PBS show “Endless Feast” which is currently airing across the country.
